Living with God

For the few, He means much.

I was once manning a Christian Union stall at uni's O-week, when the guy in the Labor Party stall next to us turned to me and started engaging in a conversation with me. He really struck me when he asked, 'So why do you think God chose you and not me?'

Maybe those weren't his words exactly, but he was fundamentally asking how come he didn't have a moment of revelation in his life?

My mouth unplugged from my mind, and I began to respond, 'maybe it just hasn't happened yet. Not that it hasn't happened at all,' before I realised what I was actually saying.

To be honest, a lot of the times I do feel like I am that guy in the other stall. Why hasn't God picked me? [Insert deep thought tangent]

I have to keep reminding myself,

It's just not the time for it yet.

God means I don't have to worry about all those things I am missing out on. With Him I have the hope of a future, and the means to get through the mire now. That is enough.

Even in my meekest offers, He is greatly pleased.
